Eggs, Its what's for supper

I find I have been eating a lot of eggs recently. I am not really an egg person, not sure why but most of the time I just avoid eggs. If I do eat eggs, it is normally as an omelette with cheese and salsa. So lately I have been eating eggs in stirfries and with spicy ramen type noodles. The main reason is laziness. I keep forgetting to thaw meat and when I get home I just want to eat. Don't get me wrong, I love meat, I just forget to deal with it then don't want to have to take the time to thaw and cook it. Eggs are already thawed and come packaged in nice, neat servings. The other nice things about eggs is that they are relatively cheap compared to meat. Although I shop at the Asian market, meat is still pricey. On the other hand, I just bought two 18 packs of eggs for under 3$. It was a buy one, get one free event. You don't see that much unprocessed meat on special like that. So eggs it is. I am still not not an egg person, but I am getting my protein without having to deal with forgetting to thaw meat.

Yeah, Finished!!

So once again I finished my NaNo challenge of 50,000 words in 30 days.  Actually I managed to finish in less than 30 days owing to a late and slow start followed by a blaze of glory over Thanksgiving.  A blaze of glory that allowed me to finish 20,000 words in two days leaving me with the story finished and my wrists hurting.  Yes, I did know better, but I was in a groove and wanted to finish.  I will be nice to my wrists over the next little while to give then a chance to heal.  This year was a success on two fronts.  Not only did I finish the word goal but I actually ran out of story.  I managed to tied up most of the loose ends and any untied ends where likely forgotten since last years NaNo event.  I would like to start editing but I get the feeling that will not be happening.  I will be trying to give my wrists a back a well deserved break.  Not that sitting and reading on the sofa has been better for my back but it is better for my wrists.

Over the four day break I used two to finish writing and the other two to drive myself crazy.  Since I didn't have anything planned, I was absolutely bored out of my head.  I guess I don't deal with down time very well.  I did pick up a few things at the store to continue working on the paddle.  I also avoided Black Friday.  There was no way I was going to deal with either the traffic or the people.  Writing was a good excuse to stay in.

NaNoWriMo again!

Well, I wasn't sure I was going to participate this year as I just had so many things I wanted to get done.  I also have a to do list of work items that I have barely been able to keep up with.  Actually I have been slowly falling behind on that list too.  But somewhere along the line of me wanting to get stuff done, I started writing and attempting to finish up the story I had started last year.  I have about 26,300 new words as of the writing of this entry (plus I had 56,000 from last years successful attempt).  Now that the time is starting to run short, I can feel the challenge of a deadline looming and now I want to finish just to say I did it again.

On top of all the writing, I have also managed to mostly finish making a Greenland style kayaking paddle, went on a car camping and kayaking trip last weekend and also got the brakes and strut mounts repaired on the car, finally.  Car feels great now.  Looks great except for one headlight looking a little cloudy compared to the brand new one I just had installed.  I will have to eventually get that one replaced.

I'll try to find time to take a picture of the paddle.  I wish I had taken pictures at each step to show the progress but oh well.  I did get a chance to use it last weekend.  I don't like the square corners but I understand that mine is still a work in progress and those will be finished off when I have everything sanded down to the final shaping.
